Autumn in Tasmania

When the rest of the Northern Hemisphere is excited about the coming of Spring, here in Tasmania in the other side of the world, we are experiencing discernible change to milder, clear days. It only means that winter is fast approaching. But before that I took the chance to enjoy what autumn in Tasmania is like.

Mt. Field National Park

RUSSELL FALLS, MT. FIELD NATIONAL PARK

Mt. Field is tagged to be one of Tasmania’s most loved national parks. The park has a wide variety of scenic features and wildlife. It offers a great range of facilities for day visitors. Few other national parks in Australia offer such diversity in vegetation, ranging from tall swamp gum forests and massive tree ferns at the base of the mountain, through rainforest along the Lake Dobson Road, to Alpine vegetation at the higher elevations.

Tasmania's Top Destinations (Part 1)

PORT ARTHUR HISTORIC SITE
In the past 5 months of my stay here in Tasmania I’ve already been to Tassie’s top scenic and stunning destinations, which I will later on post individually. However, I discovered that there are still several equally picturesque locations in this magical island. I found 15 beautiful destinations, based of course on my personal preference as a traveler. I promised myself that this is going to be a life’s goal. To see these wonderful places, if it’s the last thing I do.

City Life vs. Tassie Life

I arrived in Hobart last year 2011 from Abu Dhabi and believe me my world went upside down. Well, to elaborate more. Abu Dhabi as you know is now aiming to take center stage for it’s architectural prowess in the Middle East and the rest of the world. Wherever you go you can see skyscrapers and buildings rising from every corner of the street. I lived there for 4 years in a 30-story flat, so you can guess how difficult it was when our elevator got busted.

The Natural Island Paradise: Tasmania

Picture this: wilderness and wildlife at a gentle pace, majestic rivers, pristine deserted beaches, endless forests for trekking, thermal springs and ancient caves, well preserved historic sites and the list just goes on. Well, it’s all here in the island located almost in the edge of the world. It is considered to be one of the last frontiers of the natural world, the breath-taking island of Tasmania.
